About Star Wars: A New Hope

"Star Wars: A New Hope", also known simply as "Star Wars", was released in 1977 as the first Star Wars film. Directed by George Lucas, it launched one of the most successful and popular franchises in movie history. The story is set in a galaxy far, far away, where the evil Galactic Empire, under the leadership of Darth Vader and the Emperor, is in control. A small band of Rebels dares to resist, and one of them, Princess Leia, sends a message seeking help from Obi-Wan Kenobi, a retired Jedi Knight.

The message is delivered by two droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, who end up in the hands of young Luke Skywalker. Enlisting the help of Kenobi, a smuggler named Han Solo, and other allies, Luke embarks on a daring mission to rescue the princess and save the galaxy.
