About Steven Universe
Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. The show, which premiered in 2013, revolves around Steven, a young boy who lives with magical humanoid aliens called 'the Crystal Gems' in the fictional town of Beach City. Steven, who is half-Gem, goes on adventures and helps protect the world from Gem threats. As he tries to learn the secrets of his gem, he spends his days with his human father Greg, his friend Connie, other people in Beach City, or the other Gems, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl.
Making / Production
Steven Universe was created by Rebecca Sugar, a former writer and storyboard artist on Adventure Time. It was developed while she was a writer and storyboard artist on Adventure Time. Steven Universe was the first animated series on Cartoon Network to be created by a woman. The concept of the show was inspired by her relationship with her younger brother, Steven, who also serves as the basis for the protagonist.
Actors
- Zach Callison as Steven Universe. Zach gives an incredible voice performance, capturing Steven's quirky charm and boyish enthusiasm perfectly.
