About Terraformars

Terraformars is a Japanese anime television series adapted from the manga of the same name, written by Yū Sasuga and illustrated by Kenichi Tachibana. The series is set in a future where humanity attempts to colonize Mars by sending cockroaches and mold to the planet to terraform it. However, the plan backfires when the cockroaches evolve into large, humanoid beings known as Terraformars. A group of genetically modified humans is sent to Mars to defeat the insects and gain control of the planet. The series is filled with gritty action, suspenseful moments, and rich character development, revolving around themes of evolution, survival, and human nature.

Produced by Liden Films and directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki, Terraformars first aired on Tokyo MX between September 26, 2014, and December 19, 2014. The anime television series is composed of 13 episodes and was licensed for English localization by Viz Media.
