About Throne of Blood
Throne of Blood, also known as Spider Web Castle in Japan, is a 1957 film directed by Akira Kurosawa. The film is a reinterpretation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth in feudal Japan. It tells the story of a warrior, Washizu, who gets entangled by a prophecy told by a forest spirit. Together with his ambitious wife, they spill blood and cause mayhem in an attempt to fulfill the prophecy.

The movie was directed by Akira Kurosawa and produced by Sojiro Motoki. It was penned by Kurosawa himself along with Shinobu Hashimoto and Ryuzo Kikushima.
