Directed by Len Wiseman, Total Recall is a 2012 American science fiction action film. The film is a remake of the 1990 film of the same name, and loosely based on the 1966 short story 'We Can Remember It for You Wholesale' by Philip K. Dick. The film revolves around a factory worker, Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), who begins to suspect that he's a spy after a visit to Rekall — a company that provides its clients with implanted fake memories of a life they would like to have — goes wrong, and he finds himself on the run.

Making / Production

The film's production started in 2009 when Columbia Pictures announced a remake of the 1990 adaptation of Total Recall. The film, released on August 3, 2012, was shot in Toronto and co-produced by Original Film and Rekall Productions and distributed by Columbia Pictures.

Actors

  • Colin Farrell as Douglas Quaid/Hauser: A factory worker suffering from confusing dreams. Farrell portrayed the character with a mesmerizing emotional depth.
