Toy Story 2 is a 1999 American computer-animated comedy film directed by John Lasseter and produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It is the sequel to 1995's Toy Story and the second installment in the Toy Story franchise.

The plot revolves around Woody getting stolen by a toy collector, prompting Buzz Lightyear and his friends to vow to rescue him. Meanwhile, Woody is tempted by the idea of immortality in a museum.

The film was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Helmed by director John Lasseter, who had also directed the first film, Toy Story 2 went through a troubled production stage, as the entire film had to be re-made from scratch in less than nine months. Despite this, the film went on to become a critical and commercial success.

Actors

• Tom Hanks as Woody: Tom Hanks reprised his role from the first film and excellently portrayed the charming but antique pull-string cowboy doll dealing with his dual identity as a toy.
• Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear: Tim Allen perfectly embodied the character Buzz Lightyear and carried over his enthusiastic and comedic delivery from the first movie.
• Joan Cusack as Jessie: Joan Cusack was widely praised for her vibrant and emotional portrayal of the cowgirl doll Jessie.
