About Turner & Hooch

'Turner & Hooch' is a 1989 American buddy cop comedy film directed by Roger Spottiswoode and starring Tom Hanks and Beasley, an imposing Dogue de Bordeaux. The plot revolves around Scott Turner, a very systematic detective whose neat and ideally organized world changed dramatically when Hooch, a massive, sloppy, and lovable Dogue de Bordeaux, becomes an integral part of his life. The detective reluctantly adopts the dog, who is the only witness to his owner's murder and together they set out to solve the crime.

'Turner & Hooch' was produced by Touchstone Pictures and Silver Screen Partners IV, and distributed by Buena Vista Pictures. The film was shot in and around the Monterey Peninsula in California and was released on July 28, 1989.
