About Twin Peaks: The Return
Twin Peaks: The Return (also referred to as Twin Peaks: The Third Season) is an American television series that premiered on May 21, 2017 on Showtime. It is a continuation of the 1990 cult classic series "Twin Peaks". Created by Mark Frost and David Lynch, the plot is a surrealistic, mysterious, and dramatic blend where Agent Dale Cooper returns to the disturbing town of Twin Peaks after 25 years. The series endeavors to unravel the mystery that still lingers, exploring deeper into the enigma that is Laura Palmer's death.
Making / Production
The making of Twin Peaks: The Return was lined with secrecy. Both Lynch and Frost wrote the show over a span of three years, revealing little during its production. Filming began in 2015 and lasted for a year, with Lynch directing all 18 episodes. It was shot on digital video, a departure from both the original series and Lynch's general preference for film.
