Veneno is a Spanish biographical television series, released in 2020. The show, co-created by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, is inspired by the life and times of Spanish trans icon Cristina Ortiz Rodríguez - better known by her stage name 'La Veneno'. The series is a tale about a trans woman's struggle for acceptance and her eventual rise to fame in the 90's. Coupled with that is a narrative about a young journalism student, Valeria, who becomes inspired by Veneno and seeks to tell her story.
