About A Walk to Remember

A Walk to Remember is a 2002 American coming-of-age romantic drama film directed by Adam Shankman and written by Karen Janszen, based on Nicholas Sparks' 1999 novel of the same name. The story unfolds in a North Carolina port town where a high school rebel named Landon is forced to participate in a school play, during which he falls in love with a preacher's daughter, Jamie. When a heartbreaking secret becomes known that puts their relationship to the test, it is then that Landon and Jamie realize the true meaning of love and fate.

The film was shot in Wilmington, North Carolina and produced by Denise Di Novi and Hunt Lowry for Warner Bros. Pictures. The musical score was given by Mervyn Warren.

Actors

• Shane West as Landon Carter. West convincingly portrayed the transformation of his character from a rebellious teen to a compassionate lover.
• Mandy Moore as Jamie Sullivan. Moore beautifully played the role of a preacher's daughter who's warm, selfless and unassuming.
