About The Wallflower

The Wallflower is a Japanese animated TV series that was released in 2006. It is based on Tomoko Hayakawa's manga series of the same name. The story revolves around a gothic, horror-loving girl named Sunako Nakahara who is asked by her aunt to transform herself into a "perfect lady". With the help of four handsome boarders in her aunt's mansion, Sunako undergoes a complete makeover. However, the path to perfection is riddled with comedic situations as Sunako maintains some of her oddities.

Making / Production

The Wallflower series was directed by Shinichi Watanabe and produced by Nippon Animation. The animation was done by Tokyo Kids, and the series was distributed by ADV Films.

Actors

  • Noriko Shitaya: She voiced the role of Sunako Nakahara. Her portrayal of Sunako was impressive, capturing both the character's spooky, unusual elements and her hidden gentility.
