Whose Line Is It Anyway? is an improvisational comedy television show released in 1998. The origin of the show is British, and it was later adapted for American television. Topics for the games are based on either audience suggestions or predetermined prompts from the host.

The original British show was created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson in 1988. The American version was launched by Drew Carey on ABC and ran from 1998 to 2007. Afterwards, the show was revived by Aisha Tyler on the CW in 2013 and continues to air.
