About WWE NXT

The WWE NXT is a professional wrestling television series produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Launched in 2010, NXT started as a reality TV show, where participants (known as "rookies") from WWE's developmental territory (also known as NXT) were paired with WWE Superstars (acting as their "pros") to compete against each other, with the goal to earn a contract to perform on WWE's main roster. As of 2012, the format of the show changed to its current format, highlighting WWE's development talent in matches and backstage interviews driving multi-episode plot lines.

Making / Production

NXT is produced by WWE, with episodes traditionally being taped at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida and the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, episodes have been periodically taped at the WWE ThunderDome. William Regal is currently serving as the on-screen General Manager of NXT.
