The movie X-Men is a 2000 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It was directed by Bryan Singer and produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter. X-Men marked the Hollywood debut of acclaimed director Bryan Singer, who was a big fan of the comic book series. Filming took place from September 22, 1999 to March 3, 2000, primarily in Toronto. The film’s release was originally slated for Christmas 1999, but when that could not be met, the date was moved to July 14, 2000.
