About Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V

The Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V is an animated series that is the fourth main spin-off of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. Released in 2016, the show is set in the futuristic city of Paradise. It follows the journey of Yuya Sakaki, a young student who is learning to become an entertainment duelist at the You Show Duel School. Yuya's desire to bring happiness through dueling is put to the test as he finds himself drawn into interdimensional conflicts that have significant implications on his existence and the fate of the world.

Making / Production

The series was produced by GALLOP and directed by Katsumi Ono. The script was mainly written by Tsutomu Kamishiro, while Atsushi Maekawa contributed to a few episodes. The character designs were created by Akemi Yokota and the series was aired on TV Tokyo from April 2014 to March 2017.

Actors

  • Yuya Sakaki was voiced by Michael Liscio Jr. in the English version and Kensho Ono in the Japanese version. His character, filled with zeal and passion, brought a light-hearted feel to the show.

  • Reiji Akaba, voiced by Billy Bob Thompson in English and Yoshimasa Hosoya in Japanese, serves as a well-balanced antagonist with a deeply intricate plan and backstory.

  • Yuzu Hiiragi was voiced by Emily Jenness in English and Yuna Inamura in Japanese. As Yuya's best friend, she added emotional depth to the series.
