'Z' is a 1969 political thriller film directed by Costa-Gavras. It is a narrative on the events leading up to and after the killing of a left-wing activist in a time of political turmoil. A prosecutor and a photojournalist pursue the truth about the murder that the government and military want to cover up.

Making / Production

The film was directed by Costa-Gavras, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jorge Semprún. Cinematography was handled by Raoul Coutard, and editing was done by Françoise Bonnot. The film was shot on location in Algiers, Algeria.
