About Zapped
Zapped is a family-comedy Disney Channel Original movie that was released in 2014. It is based on the book Boys Are Dogs written by Leslie Margolis.
The plot revolves around Zoey Stevens, a skilled dancer and straight-A student who is having a hard time adjusting to a new high school, a new and klutzy dance squad, three overzealous step-brothers and an unruly dog. But things change when a dog training app downloaded on her smartphone begins to somehow control all the boys around her.
Making / Production
The movie was produced by Gaylyn Fraiche and Meyer Shwarzstein, while the direction was in the hands of Peter DeLuise. The shooting for the film mostly took place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Actors
- Zendaya as Zoey Stevens. She wonderfully portrays the protagonist who discovers she can control boys using her smartphone.
- Chanelle Peloso as Rachel Todds. Her performance as Zoey's quirky best friend provides great comic relief.
- Spencer Boldman as Jackson Kale. Boldman nails his role as Zoey’s charming love interest who remains unaffected by the app.
