About Mom

Mom is an American television sitcom that premiered on CBS on September 23, 2013. The series is created by Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky, and Gemma Baker. It unfolds the story of Christy Plunkett, a single mother who, after dealing with her battle against alcoholism and drug abuse, decides to restart her life in Napa, California, working as a waitress and attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Her mother, Bonnie Plunkett, is also a recovering addict. Christy's daughter, Violet, who was born during a period of her mother's addictive lifestyle, has also become a teenaged mother by her boyfriend, Luke. The storyline focusses on Christy's strained relationship with her mother and her attempt at paving a better future for her daughter.
